Your idea does not necessarily need to be new. you can do it even if there are competitors. but if you feel it is hard to build when you are starting, then better not to start it as your first project. your first project doesn't need to be ground breaking. build some small projects to show yourself you can do something. in the process you will learn how to build something. you need experience before starting a big project. so any idea you work on is not a waste of time. Start with a small idea / tech which you can easily *start and complete.* We think that if the idea is unique it will automatically find investors. it won't work that way (in my experience). Your idea can be intresting, but investors will check founders ability and history before investing. So build some small projects and build yourself first.
