Chhattisgarh Bijli Bill Half Yojana – Major Relief for Domestic Power Consumers The Government of Chhattisgarh has officially revived the Bijli Bill Half Yojana with upgraded benefits to support households struggling with monthly electricity expenses. This updated version of the scheme ensures that all domestic electricity consumers who use up to 200 units per month will receive a 50% subsidy on their total bill amount. The subsidy will be auto-applied by CSPDCL in the monthly billing cycle, and consumers do not need to fill out any forms or submit any applications. A unique component of the revised scheme is the provision for households consuming 200 to 400 units. These consumers will also get the benefit of half electricity bill up to 200 units for one year, but only if they agree to install a rooftop solar system under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. The Central Government provides a subsidy of up to ₹78,000, while the Chhattisgarh Government adds its own support of ₹15,000 for 1 kW and ₹30,000 for 2 kW or more capacity systems. The State Government aims to benefit nearly 36 lakh families, encouraging a shift toward clean energy while reducing the financial stress of high electricity bills.
