Poor leadership. You could have known who is who, way before the last moment, and could have taken the appropriate action earlier. In this case, I could simply state that you just used some employees who were working for you for low salaries, and were expecting a raise after the company goes live. Right after the game had been almost made and they all thought they made it, you fired them. And I can sense too much drama in this story. Mean no offence, but you haven't stated the whole story, or you just exaggerated survival instinct for wisdom. Improve. Best Wishes for the genuine growth of the company.
