Hey guys, A few days ago, I posted that I needed 5k to start my new business. Then, a friend from Uttarakhand contacted me and said he couldn’t invest 5k, but he could make a website for me worth 10k–15k that we both can access. That’s all he can contribute to the business, and in return, he wants to be my permanent partner with 30% of the profit. Now, there are many platforms and AI tools like Shopify, Wix, etc., that can create websites for businesses. Think about it—if I make 50k profit after a few months, he would get 15k (30%), just because he made the website once. After that, he would keep earning a share of the profit without doing anything. Do you guys think this is a good or valuable deal?

You answered yourself in the second para. Haste makes waste. Website is not a rocket science. Made 4 websites myself, with no error - though with zero knowledge or experience. Better if he actively participate or has passion for this idea of yours.

There is no specific answer but only a few logical answers. 1. A website is not a one time thing. You have to maintain it. If it's tech oriented, it is difficult to maintain. So 30% is not bad for that purpose. 2. Try making it by yourself until you realise it's time consuming and time is money. 3. If he is not willing to contribute in the future, give him 2x more than the original price as he risked his money and time too. Then release him.
