This is such an important perspective. AI’s shift from being purely cognitive to influencing the emotional layer introduces both immense opportunities and serious risks. Emotional intelligence in machines could support mental health, education, and empathy-driven experiences, but without strong ethical frameworks, it could just as easily lead to manipulation, dependency, or exploitation. I agree, awareness and intentional design are key. Guardrails must prioritize human wellbeing over engagement metrics, otherwise we risk losing control of the very instincts that make us human.
