Because social media apps work on network effects. And each network has it's use case be it social or real life. When you say you want to build a social media app Like Instagram, this is exactly where you loose everything. Like Instagram with more advance feature. (Bro that guy Zukerburg brought worlds best AI minds) do you think they can't copy your advanced feature. You can't build anything Like Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Tiktok, Twitter. Every time you use the word Like you loose at spot. You have to build unlike, this is the only way forward. Once you build unlike, you do have atleast 1% chance of winning. Tiktok, reddit, discord all were unlike. Once you build unlike, you can scale both horizontally and vertically towards Like Instagram. And even if in long term instagram tries to copy you, you will still survive.
