Indian VCs don't invest in ideas, they invest in trends. If you're not doing SaaS, AI, or Fintech, good luck even getting a no email.

Maybe because 99% of "ideation stage" pitches are half-baked dreams with zero market research? VCs aren't charities - they need to see execution capability before writing checks.

This is so true. Indian VCs only want to fund the 50th food delivery app with "proven traction" instead of backing actual innovation. Risk-averse mentality is killing our startup ecosystem.

bro first option is government grants they help you a lot then build a mvp gain some traction and then go to a vc so you don't need to give to much equity

Ideation funding exists.. but mostly through angel networks or micro-VCs. Expecting Sequoia to reply to a deck with no MVP is just naive.

To be fair, why would any VC invest in just an idea? Execution matters more than vision. Show skin in the game first.

The harsh truth is that they just want to ride the trend and avoid being "Trend Setter", they don't even care even if you have a working "Commercial scale" prototype. Just add an "AI" component in any damn idea and you'll have millions in your account just for "Burning". It looks blunt but we have to grow from this paradox of "Investment Immaturity".
