Stop Chasing Big Startup Ideas Just Look Around You I used to think a startup meant doing something big launching an app getting funding, and building the next Uber or Amazon that’s what everyone talks about right but over time I noticed something. Right outside my home people still line up to pay electricity bills in person many local shopkeepers don’t use online payments a nearby tailoring shop takes orders on WhatsApp but has no way to track them these are simple problems but they are real. Still most people building startups here are busy copying ideas from abroad Food delivery, quick grocery apps, AI tools… all built for people who live a very different life than the average Indian. What works in New York or San Francisco doesn’t always work in Malda, Kanpur, or even some parts of Mumbai. In India things move differently people think and spend differently but we often forget that. You don’t need to build something fancy to be a founder you just need to solve something real. I have seen great examples a small app that helps shopkeepers manage credit. A platform where women can resell clothes from home. Tools that let local businesses go online without knowing how to code. These ideas didn’t come from tech events or business schools they came from real life by paying attention to everyday problems and that’s where most startup ideas are hiding. So if you are planning to start something forget Silicon Valley for a moment just look at the people around you ask them what they struggle with help them with that. Because startups don’t always begin with investors. Sometimes they begin with your neighbor who just wants to do things a little easier.
