Design, Utility, durability are the major basic questions which needs to be tackled in the first stage. Without an edge or differentiation in this, it's hard to grab the attention of a consumer in the first place. If you think, you cracked something in the above arenas, then sourcing the appropriate raw material, warehousing raw material, place to manufacture, place to warehouse the manufactured goods are the next things to sort out. When a plan for the above two are finalized, then the real game starts. Whether to distribute the manufactured goods under the own brand or be the contract manufacturer for the existing named brands or open your own retail shop and sell them as unbranded. This is a crucial juncture that can confuse many people. Whatever you choose, should be well planned. If the manufacturing facility is big enough, a combination of above is possible too. Last comes the marketing the brand or tricks&tips for retailing or networking for deals as a contract manufacturer. The above template is more or less the same for any consumer durable goods manufacturing.
