OpenAI is quietly shifting into a new phase—something a lot like what Palantir has done in the past. Instead of just selling access to its AI models (like GPT-4o) through simple APIs or chat interfaces, OpenAI is now offering massive consulting packages, each worth over $10 million. What does that mean ? They’re sending in teams—about a dozen highly skilled engineers—to actually work inside big companies. These teams don’t just help with generic AI use. They build custom AI systems, tailor GPT-4o using the company’s private data, and make sure it actually delivers real business results, not just cool tech demos. This push is being led by Aleksander Mądry, a top researcher, and includes people who used to work at Palantir—a company known for embedding engineers inside organizations to build custom data tools. Why is this happening? Because just having a powerful AI model isn’t enough. Big companies need serious help to actually use AI in a meaningful way. Selling an API or chatbot isn’t cutting it. They need hands-on support to turn AI into something useful and practical for their specific business. So, OpenAI is no longer just a tech company offering tools—it’s becoming a full-service AI partner for the biggest organizations in the world. It’s a big change, but one that might be necessary to truly bring AI into the real world.
