first of all I dont think the data is accurate and newer iits are not even close to 2nd gen iits so you have to take the data with pinch of salt and even I agree placements are rough but that is the case in whole world and still iits are giving quiet promising results in the data that I have revived about 15- 20 percent didn't get jobs but these students include students who have got placement outside campus it includes students who are preparing for masters of mba and includes few who are trying to start a business so the real unemployed population is very small who didn't work hard in college and were in a shifty branch
