A few days ago, some guests were coming to a family function. I had clearly instructed the bus driver to take a U-turn to reach the destination. But he kept going straight. Someone from the bus called and told me the driver missed the turn. I asked them to tell him to stop—I’d come and guide him. But he didn’t. He drove 5 km ahead in the wrong direction, confidently ignoring even road signs. Everyone was frustrated. The driver had confidence, but it was misplaced. Whether you're a driver, a developer, or a leader, confidence is important—but not enough. You might think you're right, but sometimes you're not. You may have missed a new route, technique, or insight. The key is knowing when to pause, when to ask, and when to listen. Confidence gets you moving.
