Apple just rebranded Windows Vista and somehow calling it innovation 🙊 Just sat through WWDC and couldn’t help but laugh. Apple spent two hours unveiling “Liquid Glass” translucent, floating glass menus, wallpaper‑matching lock screens, frosted blur all dressed up like a major breakthrough. But let’s be honest: this is Vista Aero, patented 2006, rebranded with slick marketing . Microsoft dropped the glassy look years ago because it was resource heavy, visually noisy, and frankly outdated . Yet here’s Apple acting like they just cracked the code on transparency in 2025. Floating menus that radiate out of tapped buttons? It’s a neat touch but hardly groundbreaking . Meanwhile, real competition is doubling down on AI agents, adaptive interfaces, voice-first OSes and more. Real innovation. Apple? They’re renaming OSes to “match the year,” tinkering with UI polish, and packaging nostalgia as novelty . They’ve mastered the art of illusion: take something old, gloss it up, sell it at a premium, hype it as “broadest design update ever” . Most will fall for it. But if Aero taught us anything, it’s that style without substance doesn’t last. This is style nostalgia, not forward progress. And Apple’s asking us to buy the same song on vinyl again for full price. So tell me: Are we celebrating real advancement or are we just mesmerized by reflections and forgetting we’ve seen this before? 🌝👑
