Agreed that this by no means is "innovation" but you will have to look at it with the perspective of the tech giant. Consumer tech (esp. mobile phones) have hit a plateau. There is not much these companies can really change anymore, the time of 2-3x improvements in processing speeds/screen ratios/battery is gone. Most companies are trying to hide this problem by getting on the AI hype train. AI is alright, but I don't see any groundbreaking AI features that google/samsung have been able to produce (that people are using regularly). Apple is sticking to its age old stratergy of letting other companies beta test a new tech, polish it and sell as a disruptive idea. Where apple went wrong was to announce "Apple-intelligence" last year. Whatever reason they had (pressure from investors to get on the AI bandwagon), it was a wrong(& misleading) step. You must have seen the recent ultra-thin phone launched by samsung.(Leaks suggest apple is trying to do the same) Nobody asked for it but here we are. This is all a play to hide the stagnation of consumer tech.

While majority of the companies including Google and Apple have started to shift their focus to AI, Microsoft was the first one to bring the AI to the devices with Copilot ✌️🚀 Microsoft remains at the top of the AI competition right now.

You may find it weird but Among the publicly traded AI companies, Apple (AAPL) isn't even close to the top contenders.
