If privacy is the reason, our phone numbers are compromised anyway.
Sweden, with a population lesser than Bangalore, gave us truecaller. India is the largest market of this app.

airtel, Jio and telecom companies now tagging spam calls as spam itself so I don't think TC will be needed anymore eventually also plans of showing name who's calling is also coming very soon by operators
