I'm 14 and I'm building a data science community. Startups absolutely can run parallel to your academics; it's not one or the other. I already know coding (web development and data analytics), and I understand that continuous learning and self-improvement are crucial for survival in this field. You either adapt and upgrade your skills or get left behind.

I Believe That Getting The Freedom To Choose Stream at a young age of 15 is not justified. At this age Teens are Young Filled With Energy and Mood Swings.

Kinda same happened with me. Now I'm regretting that. Still the times have changed. The degree you opted for doesn't matter as you can learn almost anything you want online (ie YT, Udemy, etc). The only issue is that you end up wasting a lot of time studing the subjects you're not interested in anymore.
