This post is trying to have it both ways. Can't complain about "pseudo entrepreneurs" and then immediately solicit pitches. The uncomfortable truth: the funding ecosystem NEEDS these "pseudo founders." VCs rely on a constant stream of pitches to justify their existence. If everyone suddenly got "serious" and only built bootstrapped, profitable businesses, most VCs would be out of jobs.

Gen-Z is easily influenced, but the ratio of good role models to bad is declining. The system prioritizes numbers over values, making it tough to find genuine inspiration.

Spoke to 3 “founders” this week. One had a ChatGPT-generated idea, one had an IG page with 42 followers, and the third was selling Canva pitch decks for ₹499 💀

As a 22-year-old actually building a company, these generational stereotypes are so tiresome. Our generation faces an economy with stagnant wages, astronomical housing costs, and diminishing corporate opportunities. Starting something - even with just a deck - represents optimism and agency. This boomer-tier "kids these days" complaining ignores the structural economic forces pushing young people toward entrepreneurship.

100% agree with the sentiment but disagree with the investment pitch at the end. The Indian ecosystem desperately needs fewer "founders" raising money and more builders solving real problems with sustainable unit economics. The obsession with titles, funding announcements, and social media clout is destroying genuine entrepreneurship.

For every visible founder on social media, there are dozens quietly building. Selection bias makes us think everyone's chasing clout. Data doesn't support this narrative - India still has among the lowest rates of entrepreneurship per capita among major economies. We need MORE people starting companies, not fewer.

The problem isn't Gen-Z watching influencers - it's that our entire economy now incentivizes performative entrepreneurship over actual value creation. Creating a deck and calling yourself a founder has become rational behavior because the funding ecosystem rewards storytelling over execution. Don't blame young people for responding to the incentives we've created.
