Making money in a business is not just by selling your product only... (Yes). we have 27 other ways to do so. Sometimes.... You have to stop thinking about just selling your product, real money comes from the strategy. In service based companies you earn the money from deposits, memberships and referral commissions. But In sales, you profit from financial deal, ongoing fees and controlling the supply chain. bored and just not understood how this applies in the real world?. The Story of Amazon vs. Shopify In the early 2000s, Amazon was already a giant in e-commerce, selling everything from books to electronics. Most people thought Amazon made money just by selling products. But Jeff Bezos had a bigger plan—he focused on strategy, not just sales. Instead of depending only on product profits, Amazon built Amazon Prime (a membership service), Amazon Web Services (a recurring service platform), and an affiliate program (referrals). Now, even if you don’t buy anything on Amazon, you might still be paying them monthly for Prime or using their cloud services through AWS—which power companies like Netflix! Now let’s contrast that with Shopify, a service-based company. They don’t sell products themselves. Instead, they provide tools for other people to set up online stores. Shopify earns money through subscriptions, payment processing fees, and app store commissions (like memberships and referral commissions). They don’t need to control the supply chain like Amazon, but they still rake in millions by offering a platform. --- Moral of the story? Success isn't always about selling a product. It's about building a smart money strategy around the business model—whether it's memberships, referrals, financial leverage, or supply control.
