Sharing Founder Salary Online: Transparency or Trouble? 🤔💸 Saw the discussion sparked recently by a founder sharing their salary online, which quickly led to debate, accusations about authenticity, and questions about motive... Got me thinking about the tightrope founders walk with financial transparency today. 😬 On one hand, sharing successes (revenue milestones, personal salary freedom, funding) can be inspiring and demystify the journey. On the other hand, it often attracts intense scrutiny, disbelief ("That number can't be real!"), or accusations of 'flexing' rather than sharing. Even posts intended lightheartedly can get dissected! It raises some tricky questions for founders building in public: Where do you draw the line between helpful transparency and perceived bragging/flexing online? How much financial detail (personal salary, company revenue etc.) is appropriate or beneficial to share publicly? When faced with online doubt or accusations (e.g., "That screenshot is fake!" or "That's unbelievable!"), what's the most effective way to respond – engage, ignore, provide proof? It's a complex balancing act going through public perception while trying to share parts of the entrepreneurial rollercoaster authentically. What are your thoughts on founder financial transparency and handling the inevitable scrutiny that comes with it? 👇
