Puneet Gupta, originally a software engineer, founded "Astrotalk" in 2017 after a personal astrology experience. Anmol Jain joined Astrotalk in 2021 as Chief Business Officer and was later made co-founder. In FY23, Astrotalk had ₹282 crore revenue and ₹27 crore net profit. In FY24, revenue more than doubled to ₹651 crore and net profit increased to ₹94 crore. Around 60% of revenue comes from marriage-related consultations. Around 20% revenue comes from international markets. About 5% revenue comes from e-commerce offerings like gemstones and spiritual products. Astrotalk connects users with over 10,000 astrologers offering services like horoscope readings, numerology, tarot, and Vedic astrology. Operates on a revenue-sharing model with astrologers. Facilitates around 4.5 million paid and 6 million free sessions every month. Increased marketing spend from ₹74 crore in FY23 to ₹157 crore in FY24. Expanded services to the US, UK, Canada, Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Launched the Astrotalk Store in October 2024 offering spiritual and astrology-related products. Raised $30 million funding from Left Lane Capital and Elev8 Ventures, reaching a $300 million valuation. Targets an IPO by 2026 with a ₹2,000 crore revenue goal.
