I was just reading some articles and research reports, and I found out that there's a trade deficit of 100 billion USD between India and China. And now the USA is increasing tariffs on many countries, I think India could do the same. Maybe this would motivate Indian companies to start manufacturing within India. By the way, while I was writing this post, I got a notification from YouTube that Prashant Dhawan uploaded a video on this topic just 30 minutes ago. Such a funny coincidence, man.

Well Globalisation and Free Trade were promoted for a reason. Everyone trying to get self sufficient doesn't seems like a good idea imo. US Imports from China, so if US setups Manufacturing units, China will technically face losses. Same is the case with almost every country. If on country starts manufacturing, other countries will face the issue and vice-versa.

More of this tariff talk is for political signaling. governments want to look tough on China, but very few actually follow through in meaningful ways. the real moves happen quietly, through standards, incentives, and market nudges.

honestly? slapping tariffs on Chinese goods is long overdue. we’re basically funding their tech growth while hollowing out our own industries. make it expensive. make it painful. only then will Indian manufacturers step up and fill the gap.
