Not all heroes wear capes. Some just pick up your calls at 11 PM and say, “Just come back home, I’ll take care of everything.” Spoke to my dad again today. I was a little worried — not about failing, but about what people might say if I did. About the education that’s been invested in me. The hopes. The expectations. The “What does he do?” kind of questions from society. And like he always does, he calmly answered with his soft tone, “Try as much as you can… In the end, it’ll all be worth it. And if it isn’t, just come back home. I’ll take care of you.” Then he added something that broke me a little in the best way: “I don’t care about what society thinks. I care about my son and my family. That’s what we’re fighting for.” I’ve read about parenting. I’ve seen reels romanticizing it. But nothing compares to the quiet strength of a father who tells you — “Even if the world turns its back, I won’t.” This one’s for the parents who don’t show off their love, but live it every single day.
