Is 400 acres of forest acceptable for industrialisation? Telengana government is trying to destroy this 400 acres of forest and no media is covering it In Telangana's Rangareddy district, there is a 400-acre forest located very close to a university near Hyderabad This forest is home to over 455 different species of plants and animals but the government in Telangana wants to auction this land with the aim if earning ₹15000 crore and build industries on it instead on 31st March, the government began clearing the forest using around 50 bulldozers and JCBs However, environmental groups and university students have started protesting because cutting down this forest could lead to several problems like increased air pollution, water shortages, and rising temperatures During the protests, the police even lathi-charged the students, injuring some if them But for now, the Telangana High Court has ordered a stay on the deforestation until 7th April Did you know about this deforestation?
