980 full grown trees will be translocated from 376 acres of land which is planned for the 1st Phase of upcoming Deucha Pachami Coalfields Project in Birbhum. For the first time so many full-grown trees would be translocated from any project site in West Bengal [with ₹15Cr], to a designated 10 acres plot. Additionally, 5000 saplings will be planted for environmental & cultural usages. The state government has already engaged an agency to lift the basalt cover from the 376 acres, where the first phase of coal mining will start. Deucha Pachami is the second largest Coal Block in the World [the largest in Asia]. Located 90km north of Durgapur, it is connected by NH-14.
