"The narrative about 'cutting out middlemen' is marketing spin. Bewakoof eventually had to list on Myntra, Flipkart and Amazon because D2C-only strategies hit a ceiling in India. Customer acquisition costs for pure D2C are unsustainable. Their 'owning production' claim is also misleading - they contract with the same garment factories in Tirupur that most brands use. The real innovation was in their marketing approach, not their supply chain
