I spent years studying agricultural economics, and India's dairy model is fascinating because it managed to succeed without following Western industrial farming practices. Instead of consolidating into massive operations, they aggregated small producers through cooperatives. This created more distributed wealth while maintaining cultural practices where cattle were already integrated into household farming. It's one of the few examples where resisting the "modernize like the West" pressure actually worked better for local conditions.
