People say "marriages are made in heaven" but in today's age "marriages have become a business". With rising divorce cases, men are paying crores of rupees as alimony (Y Chahal) & face harassment from police (Rippling Prassana). Women could also be at a disadvantage as according to the HMA Act 1955, a husband can claim alimony from their wife though it's very uncommon. Keeping aside whether the husband/wife is right/wrong or taking divorce for the reason to avoid paying taxes; what if services are provided where the assets, income, etc of men & women are protected even before they get married so that zero/minimal alimony could be paid if in case a divorce occurs in the future. I guess parents would be equally willing to sign up for such a service to safeguard their children. This is "Precaution is better than cure" in practice. Do share your views on this, what improvements can be done & if you are interested in building such a solution.
