Decision Fatigue is Real Do you ever feel mentally exhausted at the end of a long day, even if you didn't accomplish much? That's because each and every decision—whether big or little—exerts effort. What to eat for breakfast, what to put on, whether to respond now or later… all these small decisions pile up and exhaust us. The bad news? Most of them don't even matter. So this is what I do: I flip a coin. If I'm undecided about something I don't particularly care about, I leave it up to the coin. No deliberation, no back-and-forth—I just accept whatever it spits out. Why? ✅ It reserves my mental capacity for things that matter. ✅ It prevents me from wasting time on irrelevant decisions. ✅ And occasionally, the outcome lets me know what I really wanted in the first place. It's an easy trick, but it's effective. Less stress, more concentration. Would you ever try this, or does it sound crazy?
