I disagree with the framing that MCP servers are always beneficial. They can introduce significant latency into user interactions. Every time the AI needs to call an external tool, there's a round trip that can take seconds. This creates a terrible user experience compared to purpose-built applications. Sometimes the old way of doing things is actually better for users.
