My company does the same thing - no festival leaves unless you use your precious few vacation days. Last Diwali, I had to choose between visiting my parents or saving days for a medical emergency. The worst part is how they frame it as "flexibility" when it's actually just squeezing more work out of us. Indian companies love to talk about preserving culture and tradition while simultaneously forcing their employees to abandon those very traditions. The hypocrisy is staggering. I'm actively interviewing elsewhere and suggest you do the same.
