𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗛.𝗖. 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿? While teaching at IIT Kanpur, H.C. Verma observed that over 90% of students struggled with fundamental physics concepts due to inadequate school-level resources. He identified a gap: existing books were either too theoretical or lacked depth for competitive exams, leaving students unprepared. To bridge this, he handwrote Concepts of Physics, blending conceptual clarity with real-world applications. The book introduced a problem-solving approach that made physics intuitive. With no marketing, the book gained traction purely through word-of-mouth, eventually becoming the most recommended physics book for IIT JEE. Today, it has sold over 3 million copies and remains the go-to resource for physics learning in India, even decades after its first publication. Unlike many commercial books, Verma prioritized content quality over frequent updates, ensuring students trusted his material. Beyond books, he founded Shiksha Sopan, an initiative providing quality education to underprivileged students, showcasing his commitment to long-term impact. His journey highlights that solving a real problem with an authentic, high-quality product creates lasting success, making him not just a professor but a true education entrepreneur.
