I recently went to China for the Canton Fair, and it was a completely different experience. We keep hearing about China’s progress, but seeing it in person is something else. Honestly, if we keep thinking the way we do in India—accepting slow progress, poor infrastructure, and unnecessary delays—there’s no way we can develop this country. Even our best cities, like Mumbai or Bangalore, feel like small towns compared to China’s cities. What’s Different in China? • Everything moves fast – Whether it’s business, transport, or construction, there’s no waiting around. • World-class infrastructure – Perfect roads, modern buildings, efficient public transport—no potholes, no mess. • Manufacturing at a different level – The Canton Fair shows how China supplies the world, while India is still struggling to compete. • Work discipline – People take their jobs seriously. No “chalta hai” attitude, no unnecessary delays. Why India Feels Behind? • Poor infrastructure – China builds entire cities in months, while we struggle to complete a few roads. • Too much red tape – Starting and running a business in India is full of hurdles, while China makes it easy. • Lack of vision – China is thinking about global dominance, while we are stuck in small debates. Can India Catch Up? Only if we change our mindset. We need to stop settling for “good enough” and demand world-class infrastructure, faster decision-making, and efficient systems. India has the potential, but if we don’t act fast, we’ll keep falling behind. China isn’t waiting, and neither should we.

Just as we look at India’s second-hand car market, we can similarly look at India’s second-hand mobile market. There is still a significant gap here, especially in Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities. While there are some startups in Tier 1 cities, no one is cu
