You open cloud kitchens and think you are a businessman , but you fall in a trap and realise you have become nothing but a vendor of Swiggy and Zomato. order cancellation- money cut X High commission - money cut X ADs - money cut X long distance orders - money cut X customer issue- still your money cut X discounts given - money cut X GST on every Fk* thing- money cut X POC help - not much Discount sharing - you are lured again X think 1000 times before opening a cloud kitchen in india

Everyone complaining about commissions seems to forget how much traditional restaurants spend on prime real estate, waitstaff, and ambiance. Zomato/Swiggy's 25-30% commission includes delivery, customer acquisition, and payment processing. Try getting that kind of reach on your own - you'll spend way more on marketing

Speaking hard facts here. I ran a cloud kitchen for 18 months and finally had to shut down. These platforms promise you the world with their 'partner success stories' but the reality is brutal. After all their cuts and commissions, we were making less than 5% margins. Not to mention the constant stress of maintaining ratings while dealing with delivery delays that were completely out of our control.
