well imk, most of the voting machines are organised in public areas like schools, etc and thus you can't just keep those machines over there all the time. also, you need collect and transport those evms for counting so that doesn't makes sense. no

Yaa I really like your concern but I am just giving the example of police station we can also include bank, post office,block office and other government bodies to solve this problem.

Better still, considering everyone in India has a smartphone (though there are exceptions) why not have the phone number tied to the aadhar card and election card and location etc., we can have a foolproof method of having a secure PGP encrypted voting process from home. But will the Politicians allow this??

yes we have the technology to perform the voting as you mention. But according to data most of the Indian people do not have smartphones and also most of them are unaware about technical things so it takes time to implement
