Until they hired one man who would transform Uber into a $150 billion empire... Here's exactly how he did it: In 2009, two entrepreneurs had a simple idea: book a ride with your phone. This idea became Uber, company worth $51 billion by 2015. But with success came problems—scandals, lawsuits, and unhappy drivers. CEO Travis Kalanick’s aggressive style helped Uber grow fast, but it also caused trouble. In 2017, a big scandal exposed a toxic culture, and people started losing trust. When Dara Khosrowshahi became CEO, he took a different approach. He admitted mistakes, focused on safety, and rebuilt trust. In London, when Uber lost its license, Dara didn’t fight—he apologized and fixed the issues. By 2019, Uber recovered and went public, proving good leadership means admitting mistakes and taking responsibility.
