As a company, you should not take stock market bets with investor money. It should be invested in absolutely safe instruments and FDs are a good choice for that. It is a good idea to save and invest investor money because the other option is to burn it unnecessarily. Why raise money in the first place if you don't need it? Because powerful investors bring in a lot more than money. Contacts to help grow the business and a potential exit a few years down the line. Sharan should be criticized for the insensitive post that he has put out about the entire issue. Sharan could be criticized for making a business decision about hiring people and then firing them within few months. I won't do it but I understand the point of those who do. Mocking him for this investing decision is unnecessary and juvenile.

Avoid individuals driven solely by money, even if they're friends. Money should never be the main motivation; it should come from contributing positively to society.
