I raised 10 Lac INR for my startup with just an Instagram story But now, raising funds is much more difficult. I was reading the Pre-Seed Playbook by Eximius Ventures (BTW a great read for early-stage founders) I realised, I was making a lot of mistakes I tried to raise $2 million USD pre-product, pre-revenue. My only traction was a waitlist. This approach needs years of experience and a strong VC network. I thought raising once for 18 to 24 months was smart. But that's not how it works. We were asking for a seed round, but we are a pre-seed company. This mismatch got us feedback like, "We love the idea and product, but we need more traction and users." The VCs I pitched to invest in seed and above rounds. I need to pitch to pre-seed investors. A big tip I got is to fully memorize my elevator pitch. I have one in mind, but it's not structured. I need to write it down and make it consistent.
