What is the criteria of winning startup showcase?

How are the startup ideas ranked for startup showcase? How can somebody improve his chances of winning it?

Are the showcase winners working on their idea after winning the prize, or was it just for the prize?

Can somebody please explain how the startup showcase contest on medial works? How do they rank the startup ideas (Upvotes, etc?)? And do we need a minimum viable product (MVP) to improve our chances of winning?
