just an analysis- zepto owns 300 dark stores clocks around 4lac orders a day, which means they have to do 4 lac deliveries a day using bikes and a delivery cost 25-40 rs every 33 or 35 and if we do 4lac * 33 we get 1.3cr logistics cost daily and avg cost of 1.7cr in a year for a single darkstore, don't you think it's super high and if only logistics problems can be solved everything becomes, so good. what do you think on this?

The revenue of dark store is also parallel to the deliveries. More orders = More deliveries = More revenue. I remember reading somewhere that qcomm companies bear the delivery costs since dark stores are franchised. I’d love to read about the unit economics of this model. Let me search it up.

for that they have to automate its delivery system. how? by gradually adding robotics delivery van which can receive the orders, go to the exact location, update the buyer and the buyer scans it and the delivery van automatically removes the package from the container and the delivery is done. the Van should be electric, it should have no human and the van shuld auto detect the charging stations around and charge it. We can brainstorm on this if anyone is interested!

Yup, delivery cost is the main thing. Almost a decade ago, Amazon tried using drones for it but it didn't made any sense. Same is the casein India. Out of all the options, manual delivery is still the cheapest and it's very hard to reduce it. one thing that could be done is merging orders but that would delay the dilevery by few minutes.
