The first step is to acknowledge and accept your feelings. If you're sad, you're sad - don't brush it under the carpet. Take your time, sit with it, and try to understand what you can do to pull yourself out of the situation. Seek a therapist's support if required - we have multiple affordable therapy avenues now. You need not wait for things to pile up and worsen to seek mental health support. Happy therapy is totally a thing! Coming to regulating dopamine - chase the real source! Instant gratification will only provide momentary relief, and if your reliance on it increases, you'll eventually be numb to real sources of happiness. Try and build a routine. Largely eat clean. Exercise. Meditate. Hydrate. Journal. Spend time with yourself. Easier said than done, but once you resolve to build a routine and be intentional about your actions, there's no going back to toxic coping mechanisms!
