No, the niche is stagnant and can't be changed drastically. I myself stopped using Spotify as I switched my playlist to YT Music as my premium subscription handles my YT videos and music needs just fine. Instead of Spotify, I feel like there should be something like Soundcloud for Indians which promotes independent artists more and gives them a platform to grow.

In my opinion, there's no point in building a music streaming platform because competing with the industry giants is nearly impossible without a unique differentiator. Even a major player like Spotify only manages to survive in India because people aren't willing to pay for their service—we're accustomed to free music. Launching a new brand in this space would be incredibly challenging, especially when the ultimate goal is to generate profit.

It's a totally good idea to make a app not exactly as Spotify but similar, and gov should backup, we are too much controled by west need to have our own giant

Spotify to me is all things music. However, the chapter based segmentation of any podcast doesnt exist there like "Netflix" thus making it boring for the consumers who are forced to consume the entire content at the go. I am working on a netflix + spotify motivated audiobook platform as a solution to deliver regional content.

It need a lot of hardwork to make new because users currently have habit of listening songs on spotify with proffesional look so,their is a huge challenge to compete with them But their is a need also "gaana bhi spotify wale unki pasand se chalate hai thode din baad🥺"

In my opinion another doens't make any difference in market but we can go for a better version of music providing service I mean lossless music ( in india we do only have Apple music as lossless music provider and it doesn't provide many Indian songs as everyone know ) In India the music and rap culture is booming , artist want to give their best in their sounds but atlast it narrow downs to Spotify which compress their music way too much here . I think we could fill the gap with a new music provider app in india The main complications are expensives 1. The international artists music licence is way more expensive to acquire 2. Storage and servers , these lossless music require more space and maintenance to handle many artists and consumers

What made you need an indian version of Spotify?

Making social media and streaming platforms in India is not a tech problem... It's a brand problem. On top of it, western tech has years of leverage upon us with tons of data to train their ML algo. India needs an absolutely revolutionary idea with loads of funding to beat all of that.
