When someone complains about a person who reports to you, remember: 1. Listen first. - Understand their concerns without jumping to conclusions. 2. Stay neutral. - Avoid taking sides too quickly. Every story has multiple perspectives. 3. Ask questions. - Dig deeper into the issue to get the full picture. - Be curious, not defensive. 4. Address behavior, not the person. - Focus on what can be changed, rather than labeling individuals. 5. Follow up. - Check back in with the complainer and the person involved. - Encourage open communication moving forward.
