Just saw an American startup received 2.5 million dollar funding but spent 1.8 million dollar in just buying domain. What do you guys think of this decision ? Is it worth it ? By the way the domain is friend.com

If they have the caliber to raise $2.5 million and the domain is crucial to their brand, I believe they made the right decision. Taking financial risks can sometimes lead to great business success in the future.

Bruh just checked their product it's sick bruh. The thing is they either become a unicorn or lose very bad. It's all about how consumer adapts it. The sick part is they just bought the domain to sell a product. That will have a main app actually. 🤣😭😭

If the product needs strong branding to scale, and the name is as generic as friend.com, shaadi.com, chess.com etc then it’s worth it.

Cars.com was purchased for $900 Million and there current revenue is $650 mills. Btw i would say they should have choosed friends.com instead of friend.com
