The Interesting Story of EaseMyTrip! So EMT was started by 3 Brothers namely Nishant, Rikant and Prashant. You would know that in 2000s, an airline called Air Deccan use to offer some tickets a day for just 1₹. Here, Rikant and Nishant found a legal hack to get all those 1₹ tickets for themselves. After a month, Air Deccan figured this out. So they tried to change the algorithm,etc but that didn't stopped them. Eventually, they called these guys and instead of banning them, they asked them to Handle Air Deccan's North India distributorship. Thus the brothers started Duke Travel Agency. While running this, they realized that there was a lot pain travel agent go through that could be solved using tech. Thus, they started EMT as a B2B company and later they pivoted to a B2C company. Btw Today EaseMyTrip is one of the largest Online Travel Agent with over 100cr of profits. And the best part, they are bootstrapped and are also listed in the stock market.

This is the kind of success story we need to hear more often in the Indian startup ecosystem. Too often, we only hear about the heavily funded unicorns. EMT proves that with the right idea and execution, you can build a profitable, publicly listed company without external funding.

It's amazing how they turned a 'hack' into a legitimate business opportunity. Goes to show that sometimes, what looks like a problem to big companies can be an entrepreneur's goldmine. The fact that they're profitable and bootstrapped in a space dominated by heavily funded players like MakeMyTrip is incredibly impressive.

And air deccan become insolvent. Last to last friday rajeev bhatia film is loosly base on gopinath the founder of air deccan. He made a mistake by selling to kingfishers.
