In fields like AI and biotech, VC funding is absolutely essential. These areas require massive upfront investment before any return is possible. Without VCs willing to take these big risks, a lot of groundbreaking research and development simply wouldn't happen. They're not perfect, but they're necessary for certain types of innovation.
