By 2015, Uber had secured a $1 billion Series F round that valued the company at $51 billion. The company also pursued significant debt financing, raising $1.6 billion from Goldman Sachs in 2015 and an additional $1.15 billion in 2016. These early funding rounds enabled Uber to rapidly expand its operations, first in the U.S. and then internationally, establishing a presence in major cities across the globe. The influx of capital allowed Uber to invest heavily in marketing, driver acquisition & technology dev.
