Uber raised an initial $1.25 million in angel funding from First Round Capital in 2010, which allowed the company to launch its ride-hailing service in San Francisco.This was followed by a $11 million Series A round in early 2011 and a $37 million Series B round later that year, which included an investment from Jeff Bezos. By 2015, Uber had secured a $1 billion Series F round that valued the company at $51 billion. The company also pursued significant debt financing, raising $1.6 billion from Goldman Sachs in 2015 and an additional $1.15 billion in 2016. These early funding rounds enabled Uber to rapidly expand its operations, first in the U.S. and then internationally, establishing a presence in major cities across the globe. The influx of capital allowed Uber to invest heavily in marketing, driver acquisition & technology dev.
