Okay, here me out and correct me if I'm wrong. Even most founders wouldn't have known how big a TAM they would cater to initially, as it's all about where the market is going and how a founder pivots to seize that opportunity. And during that phase founder can raise money explaining TAM which can be visible to a investor. so, saying that TAM is not an important factor for investor can be wrong because most startups fail to develop their TAM and serve it.
