Ahh...Time to complete the WhatsApp story.If you have not read my first post about WhatsApp ,then check it out first. The question was how WhatsApp generate revenue these days .Well, you might be thinking that selling data of users is the source of income ,you are correct but it is not the business model. Potentially WhatsApp is accused of selling data of users. The business model of WhatsApp - Have you heard of WhatsApp Business? No, that is not the part of our business model. WhatsApp Business API is the part of business model.API allows businesses to automate their chats with consumers and hence WhatsApp charges a fee from these businesses.This fee when divided by the user reach WhatsApp provides scales down to a nominal amount.Hence, these businesses are willing to pay. With this business model, WhatsApp generated $ 382M revenue. Let me know in comments what you think of this model and wouldn you restore the previous model if you were the CEO.
