Awesome Ideas That Didn't Work Out?! So, imagine you are traveling to your office and have nothing to do! Quibi could have helped here. Announced in 2018, Quibi was an American video streaming platform similar to Netflix. What's interesting is that all the content was less than 10 minutes long, and it was also a mobile-focused app. Its announcement made everyone excited about it, and it also raised total of $1.75 BILLION. In 2019, its official launch date was announced. By the year's end, it also sold out its first-year advertising inventory, amounting to $150 million. It was finally launched in April 2020, just before the COVID LOCKDOWN! And Since all entertainment platforms' usage skyrocketed during covid, investors put an additional $750 million into it. But the subscription were less due to higher subscription cost, people's preference to watch longer content and also because of unemployment. Thus, QuiBi was finally closed just six months after its real launch!
