"Micromax Overtakes Samsung in India" In 2000 Micromax started as an IT software company focusing on embedded devices.Micromax entered mobile market in 2008 with innovative and affordable phones. Micromax is known for its innovation in low cost segment and they invested heavily in mrketing and gained a household name. In 2014 Micromax became one of the leading smartphone brands in India overtaking Samsung in terms of shipment volumes.Canvas series of Micromax made it more popular. After the entry of Chinese brands like Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo which offered better specifications at lower prices posed a significant challenge.Their market share started to decline from 19%. Now the company is actively working on a comeback.They recently launched a phone series "IN" and also investing is creating a ecosystem with lauch TWS earphones.
